Toast to Time...

Gotta agree that I hardly blog...even if I did..usually be on something general.

Used to have a blog before this ~ jlcoral@blogspot.com. Actually quite a waste to shut down that blog...wrote a number of stuff...my thoughts, my emotions and of coz...the pics...I even wrote poems...manz! A blog that I posted almost everyday.

Guess somehow along the way, I got really weary with life. Hit a point that I decided not to post anymore (until I met Butter and decided to start this blog :)

Felt that many simple things that we wish for don't come easily. Those who were being hit by the worst would understand. So what's worst? Well, you can't compare which is the worst..perhaps it's a point where you are at your most vulnerable to give up everything including yourself. I believe everyone will come to a stage where you will have to face and question yourself.

I think and worry alot at times...but somehow, I will get over and move on. It's my nature to worry..and it's faith that helps to overcome *wink*

There is one thing that has been lying very heavy in my heart....the loss of my grandma. Somehow I feel very guilty for not treasuring her when she was alive. I took her totally for granted. For someone like me who had never lost someone in death before...thought a family member will always be there for you no matter rain or shine.....I know that death is part of life....everyday there are people dying....but when her death came....it was so hard to accept. And from then, I realised that the stuff I used to cry over was nothing compared to the loss of someone who brought me up as a child.

still miss her and dreamt of her every now and then.

Year 2007 was a tough year. I made a huge decision to quit a job of almost 7 years and thought I could spend some time at home...then 3 weeks later my grandma suddenly got admitted to hospital and passed away over a month...and then other things went wrong as well.......the whole period...told myself to hold on ya....perhaps that was how I was able to take 3 hours of sleep...went to work few hours after party.....and believe it or not, I managed to have all the energy to work almost 10 hours a day (for 6 days a week in the beauty company)...and sometimes I still went out after work. I put on a smile and became kinda crappy (I also snacked alot...main reason for putting on weight)...pretence or whatsoever but it did help to get over those days. Many times, I laughed at myself.... a person who always thought so highly of herself could end up in such a stage...perhaps I asked for it.

So now you know why I always say I'm so lucky. Coz certain things which I'm having now seem to be a wish come true.....it's like getting something so simple and yet we gotta wish for that. Not going to put exactly in words...believe someone out there will understand what I'm trying to say here. After all the lessons and all this time...I have been learning to grasp the simple rules of life and to be a better person.

Bintan Lagoon 26-27 Jul 08

Breakfast was at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. The Mee Siam and Me Rebus cost S$ 4.50 each(?!)

We took the 11.10 ferry, duration to Bintan was about an hour. Ferry was packed! Lucky Butter booked the tickets online.

No sea sick for me...heee....Swallowed a total of 4 little tablets eh...paisei...can't recall the name of the pills now heh (supposedly to cure sea sickness)...bought by Butter...he was so worried heh..normal intake is 2 pills...he made me take 4 wor before getting on board...either he scared I faint.....or perhaps...hmmmn....my scary mood swings :P

...,,,,,,,,,,,.....................Atlas! we reached Bintan Lagoon at Singapore time ~ 12.30pm, Indonesia time is about an hour behind. Check in time was 2pm, hence Singapore time 3pm (!)

So much time...and the buffet smelt really good downstairs....so well....

That was the S$7 (x2) orange juice. Sky juice better...

The buffet cost us a total of ~S$75 (!)...for "chap cai" food...gosh. 10 packets of chap cai rice also dun cost that much. No value for money!

Finally...3pm - Check In Time! Have a peek at our room

We spent the rest of the day swimming and strolling. As for dinner....it was buffet again!...anyway...if I ever go back there..I will bring cup noodles...to be honest, I wun...as in...I wun go back there again. Told Butter that I felt like "carrots" there.

We missed our bus to the ferry by 2 mins at the resort and ended up walking to a nearby clubhouse. Lucky there was another bus arriving ya...if not we gotta take cab..and dunno how much that gonna cost again.

Nevertheless, we enjoyed the trip...as for going back there...again...I doubt so heh

Sick!

Butter:

Ughh.... sick sick today =(. Flu, running nose, phelm, fever... etc etc etc. Sigh... The usual once an year "big" illness.

Ever since one particular day during my national service, while doing my guard duty on a sunday which I fell terribily ill, my body had this habit of falling sick big time once a year. And frankly I DO NOT enjoy it! >.<

Slept very early yesterday, felt really bad to call the trip to orchard road yesterday short, Toast didn't have much opportunity to go there, and finally we went and I had to fell ill =(. Sorry dear..

Anways felt better now already after a whole day of rest. 1/2 of the time I were still doing work from my lappy =_=... like most of our colleagues said, you work in this line, you sold your life to the company. =_= Yes, remember this, Customer support managers of Siemens Power Generation are on the call 24/7. However it is still an excellent job. exciting and full of surprises everyday. ;)

So... sleeping and resting and sleeping, i survied the whole morning and afternoon on 4 buns of Kaya bread and 2 glasses of milk. Somehow the milk issn't helping =/ made me feel sickly. I am glad that it's all getting better now ^^. should be fit as a bull tomorrow. And I am so looking forward to our weekend getaway ^^b. Think it's going to be really fun. Hey it's always fun with Butter and Toast =P.

Treated Esther and TMer dinner at Shokudo Restaurant (Raffles City B1-44) last Wed. Japanese Restaurant with Marche Concept. The food okay...price reasonable....nice ambience with unique designs....but one thing I dun like was...I gotta q for all the food. And there was that gal ~ Xiaxue(?!), the famous blogger,standing right in front of me at the entrance q....Thick eyelashes, blonde hair with shiny streaks....well....anyway shall reserve the comments to myself heh. Dinner was good....happy seeing Esther and TMer!

Karaoke at Loyang PartyWorld last night. Only Butter and I heh...but we both enjoyed ourselves much. Butter looked really adorable when he sang....he is always soo cute. Everytime with him....never fail to feel that I'm one lucky gal :P

Movie Reviews: Red Cliff (赤壁)

In Autumn of 208 AD, 100,000 peasants fled with their beloved leader Liu Bei from Cao Cao's million man army. Butter's Review:

As usual I have to be pretty strict with the 3 Kingdoms Movie. Good flim, good cast, good "story". Why do I comma the story? Because only the timeline is following the true historical events. Other then that, as a 3 kingdoms hardcore student since 18 years ago, this is just another movie. Anyways still a good flim to catch for the weekend, like I said in the previous movie, a fun movie for a movie go-er, a nightmare for a 3 kingdoms fan.

Movie Reviews: Hellboy 2: The Golden Army

The mythical world starts a rebellion against humanity in order to rule the Earth, so as Hellboy and his team returns they must save the world from the rebellious creatures. Now, as the creatures who inhabit the spiritual realm gear-up for an all out attack on the human plane, the only one capable of saving the Earth is a tough-talking hellspawn rejected by both worlds.

Butter's Review:

Not too bad, but then not very amazing as well. I did yawn a couple of times. I guessed if you watched part 1, catching this one is only right.

Feel Good Inc.

Toast:

In the feel good mode once again! heh Suddenly feel that there are many reasons to feel good about.

First of all, proud to announce that I'm able to fit into my old pairs of skinny jeans...with no sweat! That's just how much extras I have lost on my butt and thighs for the last few months....not to mention my arms :P
I love being slim!

Secondly, my hair!
And I went to the same place as Butter's for haircut at Bedok. The lady is good and she really takes great care in handling my hair. She cuts nice fringe.

Thirdly, Skin heh
hmmn...Facial next weekend. And I really got to say....Happy with existing condition at my age *wink* Every compliment received boost my happy cells hehe....My skin is one area where I spent the most on in terms of time and money.

Fourthly, Getaway.
Butter booked a weekend getaway at Bintan Lagoon 26-27 July'08. Think it's gonna be nice and relaxing! Wana try the couple's spa if there is. As for the sea sick issue...eh..I will try to practice some mind control.

Whenever I think that I'll be taking my block leave in Oct- Nov...I simply perks up :P

Butter and I went to apply for new HDB flat @ Punggol Breeze...result will only be out in Sept 08. If we happen to be the lucky ones, I should be able to get pretty close to having my dream home. A water view, high floor and that breeze blowing into my face. Not forgetting a nice ROM that's gonna come first next year. Already have a venue in mind...but need to check out the place first.

Lastly, I'm going to put up another blog link. I will name it ToastMarket. Shall put the link at the top right hand corner on this blog. So watch the space.

Movie Reviews: Hancock

John Hancock (Will Smith) is an unhappy and reluctant superhero who is living in his own world. For some unknown reason, Hancock is depressed and has started drinking very heavily. He has saved many lives in Los Angles over the years, but in doing so, he has no regards for damaging buildings, trains, roads, cars, or anything that gets in his way to get the job done.

Butter's Review:

I love a bad ass superhero. Not your typical hero movie, although some parts I feel can be better, still I would say the worth the dollars to catch.

Prawning

Toast:

We went prawning at Pasir Ris last night. He caught 2 prawns after an hour...and complimentary 8 big prawns from the Boss. So nice! And Butter was soooooo happy! He looked so cute carrying the prawns home...like a big kid..excited with his catch heh

Serious Butter. Hardly speak during the whole 1 hour :P
